Our Curriculum covers the complete range of skills needed for professional pet grooming, from bathing and drying to scissoring, clipping and styling different breeds. Students gain valuable hands-on experience with handling dogs while grooming. Safety for dogs and groomers as well as disinfecting, proper care of tools and other best practices of the business of grooming are emphasized to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared for professional careers in pet grooming. Our Instructor
Jeri Caldwell, our instructor, has dedicated her life to both pet grooming and training of students on an individual basis. Jeri has been involved for over 30 years in grooming and showing dogs; she has taught classes in obedience and conformation. Jeri still is active in showing dogs and has 50 Champions to her credit; she also is an AKC Sweepstakes judge and wrote for the AKC Gazette magazine for 12 years.
Our State of-the-art Facility
We provide students with the opportunity to learn “hands-on” and gain experience in using the most advanced grooming tools and equipment, in a clean and quiet learning environment.
Upon graduation from Barkefellers Grooming Academy, students have the benefit of their hands-on education and experience, Certificate of Completion, a Tool Kit of grooming tools and equipment and the skills needed to use them safely and professionally.
To register for acceptance to Barkefellers Grooming Academy:
- Read the Student Information Guide in its entirety.
- Complete the enclosed application and return it to Barkefellers with a $100 application fee. This holds your starting date, if you are accepted, while payment arrangements are made.
- Submit proof of age. (Drivers license, birth certificate, etc.) Prospective students under 18 years of age will need the signed consent of a parent or guardian to be accepted.
- Submit proof of up-to-date Tetanus vaccination.
- Complete an interview with the Instructor.
Barkefellers Grooming Academy reserves the right to refuse students at our discretion. All instruction, course materials and examinations are conducted in English, so students must have the ability to write and speak English. Upon acceptance, the balance of the course fees must be received at least 30 days prior to starting date.
